About India Design ID, 2023
In 2023, India Design ID further evolved its vision by exploring design as a storytelling medium. The theme focused on how spatial arrangements, material choices, and object placement could communicate identity, emotion, and cultural memory. The ID Symposium curated panels that explored topics ranging from indigenous innovation to global design thinking. Exhibitions placed a strong emphasis on immersive and interactive elements. Design was not only to be seen but experienced. Materials like stone, metal, wood, and textile were used to evoke visceral and symbolic responses. The 2023 edition also spotlighted India’s rising young designers, allowing for bold, speculative, and deeply personal interpretations of home and public space. The fair became a site for interdisciplinary conversations, inviting participants to reflect on the stories their spaces tell.
