Takshni's Muladhaar
At India Design Mumbai 2025, Takshni presented Muladhaar, a collection that reflected on language as the origin of belonging. The exhibition drew audiences into a space where design was not only seen but felt. Every piece in the collection spoke of rootedness, of memory translated into material. The showcase became a living dialogue between craft and culture, between what is inherited and what continues to evolve. The exhibition stood out for its meticulous craftsmanship and its conceptual depth. Visitors paused at each installation, not just to observe the work but to absorb its quiet resonance. Muladhaar unfolded as an experience where objects were carriers of stories. Through stone, brass, inlay, wood, and textile, Takshni revealed how language can travel through form, holding the weight of memory while opening a path to rediscovery. At the centre of this collection was the belief that language is a vessel. It carries the songs, stories, and silences that define a community. Through Muladhaar, Takshni invited the viewer to see that the act of making is also an act of remembering. When an artisan shapes an object, they shape the continuation of their language, their identity, and their belonging.
Evolving Mosaic -Language of Gratitude

Gratitude is the silent language that binds this mosaic, transcending speech, culture, and expression. Spoken languages shift with geography and memory, but gratitude flows beneath them as universal fluency. It requires no translation, only recognition. Gratitude acknowledges both self and other, affirming place in a larger harmony. It is humility and memory, a quiet recognition that uniqueness contributes to a greater whole. This artwork reflects on how fragments align through gratitude, forming patterns visible only in relation. To be fluent in gratitude is to see connection, to recognize that the silent language we share may be the most essential of all. In its stillness, gratitude gathers fragments into unity, reminding us that the mosaic of existence is both evolving and whole. Gratitude is the ground on which understanding rests. |

Jeevan Patra captures the Gond tribe’s philosophy that life is about sustenance, care, and interconnectedness. The work explores the idea that humans exist in relationship with one another and with the ecosystem around them. It reflects the principle that every action contributes to collective wellbeing, emphasizing how cultural knowledge and ethical practices are embedded in communal life. The piece invites viewers to consider life as a cycle of giving, responsibility, and connection, highlighting the Gond worldview of reciprocity and care as central to human existence.
